Must have been one hell of a night!

Rob McCormick
CEO of Savvis Comm.
CNN has an article about how the CEO of Savvis Communications charged $241k on his American Express card one night at Scores, a fancy strip club in New York. He now claims that the charges are bogus and refuses to pay it.

A quarter of a million dollars in one night at a topless bar? The article mentions that they tip $10,000 for a lap dance. Good for her. If the guy has that much money to blow.

Now it seems to me he can't get the company to pay the tab as part of the cost of doing business, then it must have been for "personal" use. Was this expensive night at Scores used land a big client that will earn them millions in profit? If it was, then being CEO, he certainly could have simply approved the expense to be paid. So he must not be able to convince the company (or his wife) that the expense is legit.

Remind me to never buy stock on Savvis if it is run by a CEO stupid enough to blow 1/4 $million of the company's money for one night of personal entertainment and too much of a pussy to admit it and pay it.

It turns out he is not the only one with more money than brains. The husband of a junior diplomat atBangladesh’s mission to the United Nations has sued Scores for $130k credit card charge on his card. His wife was recalled to Bangladesh because of his spending at strip clubs. Read this excellent story in New York Magazine about him and his freespending ways at Scores.

And here the American CFO of a large Swiss insurance company sued because of his $28k night.
